I have decided

I'm just not gonna let it worry me anymore.
I'll let you know how that goes.

A Conglomeration of Photos

Mon, 10/19/2009 - 16:13 — Carrie

So, this blog isn't usually a photo blog, but I thought I'd turn it into such for the sake of posting a few pictures I recently took of the kids I watch. Aislinn, Donovan, and Sinead.

Priorities

Thu, 10/15/2009 - 20:19 — Carrie

I have always had trouble with priorities. When I was young, I would have anywhere from 2-10 projects going on simultaneously, because I would get distracted from what I should be doing.
But I digress. Lately, some thought about priorities have been running through my mind. Where are my priorities? Where should they be?

1 Corinthians 15:1-3
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

Playing Mommy

"Mama?... I mean, Cawwie?"
I turned to face the almost-3-year-old, and had to smile at his jelly smeared face. Several times a day I hear this question coming out of his mouth. Mama? He knows I'm not Mama. And yet, all too often, I'm the one who takes the place of Mama for him.
I'm the one who saw his first step, who hears all those new words he comes up with, who gets him dressed in the morning. When I pull up to the house every day, he gleefully shouts, "Cawwie's home!" and runs to the door to greet me, face all aglow.

Here comes the sun!

It's a beautiful day!
Yesterday, it rained. This morning, it was wet and still quite cloudy. Then, just around the time church was over, the sun began to shine through.
By the time we were driving home, the sun was out in all it's glory. Shining brilliantly through the still-wet trees. Glinting off the bright red, orange, green and gold leaves. Bouncing it's rays past the puddles and reflecting onto the beautiful world around.

Trust in the Lord

Thu, 10/01/2009 - 10:11 — Carrie

And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant. 2 Samuel 7:28

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Psalm 9:10

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 18:2

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalm 34:8

This is my perspective

We used to have a coffee table in our living room. It was a pretty nice one. We rarely had coffee on it. We also never had coffee table books on it. Growing up, I think I was unaware of the fact that it was a coffee table. For me, it was much, much more.
