November, for those of you not in the know, if NaNoWriMo, which stands for National Novel Writing Month. This is my third year in participation, and I have high hopes.

Of course, I always have high hopes. See, the point of NaNo is to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. That's just over 1667 words a day, approximately. It's a lot. Especially when the oh-so-wonderful story idea you've been planning since April peters out on the very first day and you have to start from scratch. Talk about depressing. Tongue

On the other hand, I'm very pleased with how my story is progressing so far. I'm way behind, due mostly to my re-starts, but I have confidence that I shall catch up. Unfortunately, other things kinda fall to the wayside while NaNo is in progress. I have not touched my math book in over a week. And I got my first B on my homework assignment.

Actually, getting the B had nothing to do with NaNo, but I still haven't gotten over it so I just thought I'd throw that in there. Smile

Other things that have, and will, lag: Cleaning my room; cleaning my car; reading through the awesomely large stack of new books I have (including one I have to write a review for); sleeping; chatting with friends; working on my quilt.

And yet, I'm still quite excited. I am going to a NaNo write-in on Saturday to meet with other NaNoers and write like crazy. I'm looking forward to it.

My life is insane, sometimes, but I really rather like it.

I like your last line. Rather quote-worthy. ^_^

What's your novel going to be

What's your novel going to be about? Mine is going to be my old story written from another character's POV. I wanted to finish the one I've had going, but since I started working on it when I was 13, well...apparently that's cheating Tongue I really have no other plot ideas so maybe this will help me find out what happens at the end of my story. Smile

Did you go to the write-in,

Did you go to the write-in, and did you like it? There is one here I could go to, but I wouldn't know anyone there so it might be weird.
